US Postal Service raises cost of mailing letter to $411
by Robert Doyle
The U.S. Postal Service raised
the price of mailing a first class letter from
34-cents to an astounding
$411.00 yesterday. The Postal Service said the
raise was needed because of an increase in the
cost of mental health insurance and general
corruption.
Calls of outrage to the rate
hike were met with condescending derision by
Postmaster General, John E. Potter. "Whaddaya
gonna do? Write a letter of complaint?"
Potter said before slapping a high five with a
nearby crony.
The new stamps will feature the
pictures of the current Postmaster General,
John E. Potter. A move that some people
derided as "jerky". "Whaddaya gonna
do? Write a letter of complaint?" Potter
said again before slapping a high five with a
nearby crony who seemed less impressed with the
joke the second time around.
The USPS will be increasing
production of their $410.66 stamp for a few months
so that people can use up their left over 34-cent
stamps.
